An outstanding record of success in shooting competitions is credited to the Rotorua High School cadet company this year, the school winning no less than four trophies. The annual barracks of the school ended on Saturday and on Sunday the camp was open to parents and friends of the cadets. During the day opportunity was taken by Colonel J E Duigan, officer commanding the Northern Command, to present the various shooting trophies, which included the Weekly Press Challenge Shield, won for the third time in succession, the McDermott Cup, John Logan Campbell Vase, and Gunson Cup. In addition to these a member of the company, Ser-geant-Major Devin, won the Friar Memorial, awarded to the most efficient cadet In the Northern Command.
