As the pair appear the spectators exclaim, ‘There he is!” and level cameras. Newspapers are protesting, against .an. officer of a crack British regiment being thus publicly exhibited pending a courtmartial. The War Office announced on February 20 that the officer is Lieutenant N. Bail-lie-Stewart, and that he would be tried by a general court-martial, probably early in March. . _ The Army List discloses that Lieutenant Baillie-Stewart is attached to the Army Service Corns at Aidershot The identity of the prisoner had been widely known prior to the official announcement, but the publication of his name had been prohibited.
