At an inquest at Hikurangi to-day concerning the victims of the triple tragedy at the coalmine a verdict was returned that Albert Ackers met his death through unwittingly coming into contact with black damp, that James Ackers died similarly when attempting to rescue Albert, and that Jack Ackers died in the same way trying to save the others.
