MILK GRADING SYSTEM

CONFERENCE WITH MINISTER. DECISION OF DEPARTMENT. The question of milk grading at certain cheese factories in the Taranaki district was discussed at a round-table conference held at Parliament Buildings. The conference was attended by the Min-: ister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan,. Mr. W. J. Polson, M-P. for Stratford, Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P. for New Plymouth, Mr. • H. G. . Dickie, M.P. for Patea, Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, M.P. for Egmoiit, Dr. C. J. Reakes, Director-Gen-eral of Agriculture, ‘ and Mr. W. _M. Singleton,' Director of the Dairy Division. No decision was reached at the. conference, which discussed the decision of the Department of Agriculture to enforce the use of the curd test as against the bacteriological test at present in use in certain Taranaki factories. The conference was the outcome of a question recently asked by Mr. Polson in the House of Representatives.
