FRIENDLY CRICKET MATCH
GAME AT TARURUTANGI. VISIT BY NEW PLYMOUTH TEAM. A New Plymouth cricket team visited Tarurutangi yesterday and played a friendly match, being beaten by 83 runs on the first innings. New Plymouth’s innings produced 51 runs (Medley 18), L. Bishop taking three for 14 and Eric Giddy three for three. Tarurutangi made 134 (Spence Giddy 30 retired, Norman Giddy 28 retired, Sid Sampson 21 retired, Stan Giddy 11 not out, L. Bishop 11, Eric Giddy 11). Clarke took two wickets for 15 runs, McKoy one for six and Broughton one for five. In a second strike New Plymouth made 41 for the loss of eight wickets (Davison 14), J. Sampson taking four for six and Norm. Giddy two for six.
