ALLEGED MURDER OF BABY
‘ JWELLINGTON WOMAN. CHARGED. PATIENT OF MENTAL HOSPITAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. -Wellington, Feb. 13. A case of alleged murder came up in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, the victim' being Dawn Betty Mitchell; aged three, and the accused her mother, aged 33. When the case was called SubInspector Ward asked for a remand till February 22. He said that the accused was recently released on license from a mental hospital and it was probable that during the period of remand the hospital authorities would take her back if the magistrate approved. The tragedy is said to have taken place at Newton some time last evening.
