KAPONGA FARMERS’ UNION

The Kaponga branch of the Farmers’ Union met on Thursday night. Mr. D. Malone presided -over a fair attendance. The chairman said the branch had lost a keen member by'the death of Mr. A. J. Dempsey. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs. Dempsey and family. Mr. R. E. Williams brought forward the ’ matter of the charge made bacon companies for insurance on pigs. After a full discussion it was decided to defer the matter until next meeting, the president saying he understood the Stratford branch was preparing a remit to be placed before the annual South Taranaki conference. Members gave details of their individual experiences of the various ways of treating noxious weeds on their farms.
