A large public meeting of Indian citizens at Bombay roundly condemned th* proposals of the Round Table Confer* ence as falling far short of the legitimate aspirations of the most moderat* opinion in India. The main criticism was directed against the Viceroy’s / retention iOf powers of over-riding the Legislative Assembly, also against the financial safeguards.
