PROTEST AT NEW PETROL TAX. NEXT MEETING AT HASTINGS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Feb. 10. The bakers’ conference has concluded, Messrs. C. E. Boon, F. H. Hawker and the president (Mr. T. W. Smith) have been appointed representatives on the Wheat Research Committee. It was decided to forward a protest to the Government regarding .the additional tax on petrol. Mr. C. E. Boon, president of the Canterbury Association, was made a life member of the New Zealand Association. The Hawke’s Bay invitation for the next conference to be held at Hastings was accepted.
