NOT PARTS OF THE AOTEAROA
WASHED-UP PORTIONS OF PLANE. ANOTHER THEORY PUT FORWARD. Dy Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. , Sydney, February 10. Aviation experts are certain that the aeroplane parts washed ashore at Jervis Bay are not those of the Hood-Moncrieff monoplane Aotearoa, which was used in an attempted flight of the Tasman in 1928, nor are they, parts of any British machine registered in Australia. One theory is that the plane was one of those which met with disaster in a prize race from San Francisco to Hawaii in 1927 and had afterwards drifted to Australian waters.
