ATTEMPTED FRAUD ALLEGED
INSURANCE OFFICERS CHARGED.
CASE IN SYDNEY POLICE COURT.
By Tslegraph—Prsss Assn.—Copyrigns. Rec. .9.15 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 31. William Thedeus Page, aged 45, a company director, and Oswald Elfe Corkhill, aged 47, a secretary, were charged at the Central Police Court with attempted fraud.
The charges were that Page and Corkhill, manager and secretary respectively of the Associated Dominions Assurance feociety, Limited, circulated and published a balance-sheet -which was false in certain material particulars, in that it was falsely stated that the assets of the company were £236,241, they then well knowing the particulars to be false, with mtent to deceive and defraud shareholders in the company.
Page and Corkhill were remanded until February 7. :
