HAWERA ITEMS.
Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Chisholm have returned home from a camping holiday and motor tour.
Mr. and Mrs. Swinbum and family returned from Kaupokonui beach yesterday. Mrs. A. E. Spratt and family, who have been holidaying at the beach in New Plymouth, returned home last week-end.
Mr. and Mrs. C. Lash, New Plymouth, are Mr. and Mrs. J. Ogle’s guests for the races. Mr. Lash returns later in' the week, but Mrs. Lash will be staying for about a fortnight with her sister. Last week -Mrs. W. A. Duckworth was hostess at a dinner party for a few friends and visitors, and afterwards at bridge. To meet her guests Mrs. Duckworth wore a smart dinner frock of figured silk georgette. The riining and sitting rooms were gay with bowls of mixed flowers in rich tones of gold, yellow and brown. Mr. and Mrs. W. O. ■Williams, Mr. and Mrs. W. McL’Dowie, Mrs. W. Powdrell, Mrs. A. Woodward and Misses Middleton (Christchurch), Glenn and Mrs. Archie Bailey (Wanganui) were the guests at dinner.
