DISSATISFACTION AT YOKOHAMA.
MACHINES BECOME TOO COSTLY.
By Telesrraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 7.15 p.m. Kobe, Jan. 18. Prolonged agitation among Singers 8000 employees culminated yesterday at Yokohama. A hundred discharged employees rushed the office, smashed doors, windows and furniture and threw all the books and documents into the river. They attacked the loyal employees, severely beating twenty of them. The police arrested fifty of the rioters. The trouble was caused by the yen exchange making the machines too costly in the depression period.
