DOMINION CROQUET COUNCIL
ANNUAL MEETING BEING HELD.
LEVY ON MEMBERS OPPOSED.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, January 19.
The annual meeting, of the New Zealand Croquet Council has decided to appeal to the association to hold the annual meetings earlier, in order that the reports may be incorporated in the council’s annual returns.
It w as resolved that the three open championships, Dominion, North Island and South Island, be decided under the same conditions as previously. A proposal to appoint an organising secretary on a levy of 2s. 6d. a year per member was strongly opposed on the ground that the time was not opportune. In view of this no further action was taken, but it was decided to appeal to all members for voluntary contributions of 6d. or Is. a week.
