THE LIVE STOCK MARKETS LITTLE CHANGE AT ADDINGTON. SMALLER FAT SHEEP ENTRY. ♦ Christchurch, Jan. 18.< Values at the Addington market showed little change. The fat lamb and ewe schedule for export improved during the week, and this was reflected in slightly better prices in those sections of store sheep Stores for the most part comprised lambs, and forward sorts sold better. Quotations were: Forward m.s., 9s to 10s 6d; medium m.s., 7s 3d to 8s 9d; ordinary, 6s to 7s; cull, 4s 6d to 5s 9d; wether lambs, 5s 9d to 6s. A yarding of 4300 fat lambs was penned. The best brought 4Jd, with 37s 43’s, and seconds to 4d. The best made to 16s; prime, 13s 6d to 14s 6d; others, 9s 6d to 12s 6d. The fat sheep entry was smaller, and better prices were realised for ewes, with wethers firm at last week’s rates. Best wethers sold at 3£d and ewes at IJd; extra prime heavy wethers, .to 16s 7d; prime heavy, 14s to 15s; medium weight, 12s to 13s 6d; ordinary, 10s 6d to 11s 6d; light, 8s 6d to 10s; show ewes, to 15s; extra prime heavy, to 13s 6d; prime heavy, 10s to Ils 6d; medium weight, prime, 8s to 9s 6d; ordinary, 7s to 8s; light ewes, 5s to 6s 9d. There was another heavy entry of 375 head of fat cattle, the quality being mixed. The sale was a hard one, with further weakening in values for plain steers and inferior' cows. Prime beef made 17s 6d to 19s; heavyweight and medium steer, 14s 6d to 17s; medium cow, Ils to 13s; inferior, down to 8s; extra prime heavy steers, to £9 12s 6d; prime heavy, £6 to £8 ss; prime medium weight, £4 15s to £6 ss; ordinary quality, £3 5s to £4 10s; light, to £3; extra prime heifers, to £7 7s 6d; prime, £4 to £5 15s; ordinary, £2 10 to £3 15; light, to £2; extra prime cows, to £7 2s 6d; prime, £3 10s to £5; ordinary, £2 5s to £3 ss; light, £1 10s to £2. There was medium entry of fat pigs, and an improved sale for good baconers. Porkers were unchanged. Choppers, 22s 6d to 48s 6d; baconers, 32s 6d to £2 9s 6d; average per lb., 3J to 3J; porkers, 19s 6d to 27s 6d; average price per lb., 3| to 4d. HAWKE’S BAY QUOTATIONS. STORTFORD LODGE SALE. Hastings, Jan. 18. There was yarding of 300 head of cattle at the Stortford Lodge sale to-day. Bidding was quiet, buyers not being prepared to pay the prices asked for. In consequence a number of prime heavyconditioned bullocks were passed. Prices were on a par with last week. The top prices obtained were not high, but the quality for quality prices were slightly easier than last week. An offering of Hereford Polled Angus bullocks realised £6 7s for one prime Hereford, the remaining Herefofds going at prices ranging from £5 17s to £6. A Polled Angus good line realised from £5 8s 6d to £5 18s 6d.

The market was topped in the bullock section by two prime head of stock, which realised £7. Bullocks, prime heavyweight, £6 5s to £7 2s; medium, £4 5s to £5 19s; light, £3 to £4. Cows, prime, £3 5s to £3 18s 6d; others, £1 10s to £3. Heifers, £2 12s 6d to £3 8s 6d. Vealers to 24s 6d.

Fat sheep comprised a heavy yarding. All sections were well represented by exceptionally prime sheep. Prices for prime ewes showed an increase on last week. Wethers lambs sold at late rates. Prices were: Primer heavy wethers, 12s 6d to 12s lOd; prime light, Ils to 12s; prime heavy ewes, 7s to 8s 9d; others, 6s to 7s; extra heavy lambs, 13s 6d; prime, Ils to 12s 6d.

There was an entry of 7000 store sheep. Woolly wether lambs, 7s lOd to 7s 8d; forward two-tooth wethers and two-tooth ewes, 10s Id; two-tooth wethers, 8s lid; wooly wethers, 7s 8d to 6s 8d; two-tooth wethers, 8s 6d; woolly wether lambs, a good line, 7s lid to 8s 7d; two and four-tooth shorn wethers, 9s 7d; f. and f. lambs, 10s 2d. EXPORTERS BUY AT WESTFIELD. MOST CLASSES IN DEMAND. Auckland, Jan. 18. There Was a larger yarding of beef at the Westfield fat stock sale to-day, and prices declined Is per 1001 b to 18s with a reduction per head of ..from 5s to 10s. Other classes of stock -Were in better demand, owing to the? operations of exporters. Extra choice ox sold to 18s per 1001 b; choice and jprime ox, 15s to 17s; secondary and plain, 12s to 14s. Heavy prime steers ranged from £6 10s to £7 2s 6d; lighter prime steers, £5 10s to £6 7s 6d; light prime, £4 to £5 6s 6d; small and unfinished, £2 to £3 17s 6d; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £4 to £4 15s;. heavy prime cows and heifers, £3 to £3 17s 6d; lighter prime, £2 5s to £2 17s 6d; other/ killable cows, £1 5d to £2 2s 6d. Calves came forward in shorter numbers, values being firm at late rates. Runners made £1 5d to £2 ss; heavy vealers, £1 6d to £2 3d; medium, £1 5s to £1 10s; light, 17s to £1; small, Bs' to 14s; rough and bucket-fed, 5s to 10s. Bobby calves, 2s to ss. There was a comparatively small yarding of sheep, which met with a ready sale at slightly higher rates. Heavy prime wethers made 15s to 16s; medium prime wethers, 12s 6d to 14s 9d; light prime, Ils to 12s 3d; small and unfinished, 8s to 10s 6d; heavy prime cows, 7s 9d to 9s; medium prime, 6s 9d to 7s 6d; light prime, 5s 6d to 6s 6d; inferiorly fatted <swes, 2s to ss; prime hoggets, 10s to 12s 6d.

Lambs were in full supply and sold briskly at late rates. Heavy prime lambs made 12s to 15s; medium, 10s 6d to Ils; fight, 7s 3d to 10s 3d. There was a steady demand for pigs, and both baconers and porkers advanced in price. Choppers made £1 to £2; baconers, 28s to 495; porkers, 16s to 325.
