DEATH ON SHOOTING TRIP
YOUTH ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED.

While on a fishing and shooting expedition at Northope (near Winton) on Saturday afternoon William Walker, aged 17, of Invercargill, was, it is presumed accidentally, fatally shot, although no member of the party of four actually saw the fatal shot fired. It appears Walker discharged his own gun by accident, his death being almost instantaneous. The bullet entered his right side .above the hip.
