The rapidity With which modern business may be conducted by aeroplane and the increasing air-mindedness of New Zealand people were illustrated by a Christchurch business man’s flight to New Plymouth yesterday. He left for the. south again in the afternoon and was expected to reach Christchurch at 6 p.m. He was Mr. C. Paynter, and ths pilot of the aeroplane was Sir. Bruce Stewart. Thursday night was spent at ■ Blenheim and the machine left there at 5.45 a.m. yesterday to make a two-hopr flight to New Plymouth, the two men arriving at 7.45 a.m. The plane was over Hawera at 7.25.aan. and the fly...g time from there to New Plymouth, a distance of 40 miles as the crow flies, .was 20 minutes. The return trip was begun in the afternoon.
