RACE DISQUALIFICATIONS
THE DARGAVILLE CASES.
HEARING TO-MORROW AFTERNOON
The appeals in connection with the Dargaville racing disqualification case will be heard by the Auckland District Committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference to-morrow afternoon. Appeals have been lodged by the following:—R. A. Powell, of Dargaville, on behalf of himself and his horse Bronze Tray; A. G. Murray, rider of Bronze Tray; H. Gray, Takanini, trainer of Thespis; and L. Clifford, rider of Thespis. R. A. Powell, his brother, C. R. Powell, of Whangarei, and H. Gray were each disqualified for three years by the judicial committee of the Dargaville Racing Club, A. ,G. Murray for two years, and L. Clifford and R. Home, rider of Hannibal, for one year. The ground of the disqualifications was that the persons named were guilty of a corrupt and fraudulent practice by conspiring to assist Tetrarchate to win the President’s Handicap at Dargaville on December 3.
The race was won by Alloy, with Tetrarchate second and Hannibal third. Thespis gnd Bronze Tray were the only other starters? . 4
