George Sharet, who died Studying to the last the effects of disease on his own flesh contracted by radium bums during the war-time. He had since undergone many operations but continued the work of radium research. His suffering seemed only a •further incentive.
After one of the severest operations President Doumer visited the hospital and pinned the Cross of the Legion of Honour of M. Sharet’s breast.
