Jevtitch, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said there had been a deliberateattempt on slight pretexts to arouse hatred against Yugo-Slavia throughout Italy. Yugo-Slavia would remain f calm in the face of provocation but would not hold its arms and refuse to', defend its most sacred rights. M. Jevtitch deciares that the Italian,,. allegations are grossly exaggerated. ‘ "?!
Signor Mussolini, addressing the Senate, referred- to acts of barbarism im Yugo-Slavia. He .said that an. official protest was forwarded to Belgrade' against the demonstrations of unceasing hostility towards Italy. ’ Signor Mussolini added that certain: Europeans posing as pacifists-invented »' ridiculous story that Italy was preparing' to attack Yugo-Slavia. Despite provocation Italy had not lost its head, but was 1 watching events calmly.-He added that ; those who had destroyed the stone lions' of Trau could not destroy history, responsible belonged to tfie highest poli-y tical circles. .
