PURGING OF THE PARTY.
SEVERE LOYALTY TESTS.
London, Dec. 12.
A third general purge of the Communist Party, which the Pravda authoritatively declares must be thorough and merciless, has been ordered by the tral committee, says the Riga correspondent of the Times. The decree is aimed at ousting traitors working among peasants, White Guards and other anti-Soviet organisations in the Ukraine and elsewhere, who are forcing the failure of the Soviet’s agricultural plans. The purging operations involve loyalty tests before disciplinary tribunals and must prove a severe strain on an already over-worked organisation, but will provide scapegoats.
