RETURNS FROM LAST . SALE. TOTAL- : OF £132,113 REALISED. ' . - . • •• ••', > ••• . -Pe<!, 21. ; ' The total value of the wool sold at the first Auckland sale .on December 1 arid 2 was £132,118, according |o.the returns of the Auckland Wooibrokers’ Association. Of 28,686 bales offered, 23,547- -were sold. The average price, is calculated at £s ; l2s. 3d a bale, and 3.686 d per lb. ■The average price realised shows a eonsiderable reduction ■ in', copiparispri, with the opening sales of the 1930-31 and 1931-32 selling, seasons.. At the first Auckland sale in 1930 the average'price of a .bale was £6 13s 2d, and the ; average price per lb ;wasl:4.67d? the' figures./for/ the November, 1931, sale being £7 5s iod and 5.06 d respectively. A satisfactory feature of the returns is the proportional increase in the number of bales sold to the amount offered/indicating that growers are now. more inclined to' meet the market.
