TENNIS TOURNAMENT

DRAW FOR MONDAY AT HAWERA. . LEADING PLAYERS TAKING PART. L _ Excellent entries have been made for 1 the Hawera Tennis Club’s tournament, which commences on Monday. Most of the leading South Taranaki players are, ! of course, taking part, and there is as well a strong contingent from North Taranaki, including C. H. Strombom and ! others closely attending him on the lad- ’ der. From other provinces there are J. ■ McCarthy (Wellington), McFarlane, : Barkman and Hay-Campbell (Wanganui) and other good players. The ladies events have also drawn good fields. Despite the dry weather the courts are in almost perfect order. There are pyac? ' tically no signs, of wear and the surface is very true all over.
