' STRENGTH OF BRITISH FUNDS. British Wireless. Rugby, Dec. 20. Following a rise in the sterling dollar rate the strength, of British funds was again the principal feature of to-day’s stock exchange. At the close there were general gams from a quarter to one and a-half points with war loan 3J per cent, bonds at £9B 15s, showing an improvement of £1 16s 8d on the day. PRICE OF SILVER IN LONDON. Rec. 8 pun. London, Dec. 20. Silver is quoted at 16 15-16 d (17d yesterday) an ounce spot and 17d (17 l-16d) forward. Silver is 16 15-16 d per standard ounce and 18? d per fine ounce, compared with 17d and 18 5-16 d respectively yesterday. SHAREMARKET TRANSACTIONS. NEW ZEALAND EXCHANGES.
