CLOSING OF TOTE CLUBS
SUDDEN DECISION IN LONDON. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 8 p.m. London, Dec. 20. Acting on counsel’s advicei circulated telegraphically, between 100 and 150 tote clubs in London were closed last night shortly before thp first greyhound races were timed to start. . The Daily Express understands that totalisators at all licensed tracks in London will cease operating to-night. Parliament when it reassembles in February will be asked to pass a Bill legalising the tote at greyhound tracks. The Lord Chief Justice recently gave a judgment declaring tote clubs illegal.
