STRUCK BY LOG ON SLIDE
WELLINGTON CONTRACTOR DIES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 19. Struck by a log on a wire slide at Akatarawa and severely injured on Saturday afternoon, William Collins, a woodcutting contractor, living at 19 Murphy Street, Wellington, died on the way to hospital. -. Mr. Collins was engaged on a station at Akatarawa. The log came down the slide and struck him, crushing his right shoulder and ribs. He was removed to the unemployed relief camp, from which the ambulance brought him to the city, where it was found that he had died. Mr. Collins, who was 45 years of age, was a single man.
