MANUTAHI DISTRICT NEWS
J SUNDAY SCHOOL GATHERING. A very successful Sunday school prize'r giving and busy-bee afternoon was held in the Manutahi hall recently. The afternoon was spent very pleasantly with ! games in which both adults apd children i joined. During the presentation of prizes . the Rev. Walton was chairman, while ' the Rev. Smaill and the Rev. Common . presented the girls’ and boys’ prizes respectively. Two busy-bee stalls were . erected in the hall. The girls, under the direction of Mrs. H. Southcombe, were , in charge of the drapery and fancy goods [ stall, while the boys, led by Master A. Muggeridge, ware in charge of the sweets stall. The stalls resulted in the very [ satisfactory profit of £3 10s. . An interesting feature of the afternoon . was the treasure hunt for the children. [ Bon-bons were hidden in. the hall I grounds and the children spent a pleasant quarter of an hour finding them. Durr ing the afternoon Ted Muggeridge prel sented Miss E. Tapp , with a box of . handkerchiefs on behalf of the Sunday school children. ' Miss Tapp, who opened the Sunday school at the beginning of the year, is leaving the district. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies. ‘
