CLUB’S WEEKLY SPORTS MEETING.

NEW EVENTS FOR BOYS POPULAR.

The Patea Athletic Club’s Wednesday programme was run in a strong westerly breeze at the Patea Domain yesterday. Keen finishes were the rule. The addition of the boys’ events proved gratifying, exceptional keenness being apparent. Eight events were run, Mr. C. J. Gardiner being handicapper and starter. The details are:—

Finlayson presided at the meeting of the Patea Amateur Athletic Club on Tuesday. The donation of two cups by the Herbert Smith trust for competition among the younger boys and girls was reported, the club’s appreciation being recorded.
