DR. BARNARDO’S HOMES
FITZROY SCHOOL BOX-OPENING. The box-opening in aid of Dr. Barnardo’s Homes took place at the Fitzroy School last week. \ The collections were very good, amounting to £ll 17s lOd, and the members were congratulated on the interest shown, An afternoon was spent on the beach, all thoroughly enjoying themselves with games and swimming. Two members of the Surf Club took control of the swimming, and their help was much appreciated. Collectors with 5s or more in their boxes were Jack Aburn, Dinah Anderson, Vera Bint, George Beattie, Joan Bishop, Margaret Birins, Thelma Carter, Frank Flannagan, Eric Gatland, Grace Giddy, Tony Gilliver, Rex Holswich, Peggy Hollis, Zelda Hopkinson, Ray Hancock, Desma Julian, Nola Jones, Sylvia Jones, George Knight, Keith Lewis, Josie Lile, Noel Fenton, Nancy McKenzie, Elliott Masters, Murray Mander, Roswell Martin, Herbert Old, Fred. Pollock, Mary Pullen, Elsie Styles, Dorothy Symons, Hazel Salt. The highest collectors were Nola and Sylvia Jones. The following have qualified for silver badges: Jack Aburn, Dinah Anderson, Vera Bint, Joan Bishop, Eric Gatland, Peggy Hollis, Desma Julian, George Knight, Keith Lewis, Josie Lile, Murray Mander, Herbert Old and Daphne Mack.
