WELLINGTON MEN RESCUED

After drifting helplessly with a disabled engine nearly all day and wtan hopes of rescue were rapidly vanishing, a 20ft. launch with two men aboard was sighted this afternoon from the tramp steamer Newton Elm when about seven miles off Pencarrow Head. When off Sinclair Head the engine stopped due to water reaching, the magneto. The launch drifted until p.m., when it was sighted from the Newton Elm. ’•?>.. , During the rescue operations a plank of the launch was stove in and thecraft was cast adrift. The rescued men highly praised the seamanship of the Newton Elm’s master, officers and crew ana express gratitude for the great kindnesa received.
