HAWERA DEFEAT FEILDING VICTORY ON FIRST INNINGS. MARGIN. OF EIGHTEEN RUNS. In 1 the annual cricket match with the Feilding Agricultural High School played at Hawera yesterday in, perfect cricket weather. The Hawera ‘High School won by 18 runs on the first inXiilxgS. At one stage the score read five- for 88, of which- Duke and Wills, who made 29, had compiled 80. The only other Hawera batsmen to reach double figures were Rogers (11) and Hunter (14).

Feilding opened their innings after the luncheon adjournment,' the first two wickets falling cheaply. Burgess and Hart then became associated and carried the score to 77, the partnership yielding 61 runs. Burgess, after giving two chances early in the innings, carried his score to 43'before being caught by Wills oft Green. ‘

Hart, one of the opening batsmen, batted for three hours to score 18, being the only other double-figure scorer. Bowling for Hawera, Pritchard secured six wickets at the cost of 22. rims, Gardiner also bowling well *to obtain two for 14.
