WAVERLEY PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The last meeting of the Waverley Muniset Society was held on Thursday night. After the ..business had been dealt with Mrs. Roberts gave an interesting talk on the general system of work and the growth of the Plunket Society. Mrs. Roberts, president of - the Patea branch, was a delegate at the recent conference at Wanganui and was able to give some interesting items regarding’the work of the society and the progress it has made, even as far as Palestine and other countries. Several songs were sung and an amusing “soap” competition held. After supper the nurse showed the visitors the rooms, of which Waverley has reason to be proud. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. Roberts for her , talk. Among , those; r present; were Mesdames Roberts,' Haddow' (Patea), Currie, Boyne, Mulholland,' Watt. Heginbotham, Lupton and Graves.
