RELIEF OF MORTGAGORS
TWO CLAUSES ADDED TO BILL. EXTENSION OF APPLICATION. By. Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Two new.clauses in the Mortgagors and Tenants’ Further Relief Bill were introduced in the House to-day. One clause states, that the provisions as to the relief of lessees may be extended to licensees for the cutting and removal of timber or flax or for the extraction of coal as if such licenses were leases and .as if royalties or other payments reserved thereunder were rent. The same provisions may be extended to apply to any way leases or other easements granted in relation to the rights conferred by any such license and payments reserved under it.
Application for relief from the conditions of any license to which the clause refers may be’ made only to the Supreme Court, and it shall not be necessary for the Court .to refer any such application to an adjustment commission.
The other clause provides for an extension of the term “lessee” to include a person who has guaranteed performance by a lessee of any covenant, condition or agreement expressed or implied in a lease.
