TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB
QUESTION OF RADIO DEFERRED. MONTHLY COMMITTEE MEETING. Th question of broadcasting a running description of the races at the Christmas meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club was held over by the club’s committee meeting at New Plymouth last night for further consideration. Mr. L. A. Nolan presided at the meeting, and others present were Messrs. J. McLeod, G. Fraser, S. E. Nielson, W. T. Hookham, A. R. Standish, J. Scanlan, C. P. Webster and O. Moore. The Taranaki Regimental New Plymouth Citizens Band was engaged to play at the race meeting. The gate charges decided upon were: Men, outside 25., lawn 55.; ladies, outside Is., lawn 2s. 6d. Consideration of the programme for the February race meeting was deferred. Three new members were elected to the club.
