CARVER—AYERS. The marriage of Edith Hilda Ayers, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Ayers, Matau, to William Linden Carver, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Carver, Kohuratahij was celebrated on October 11. The ceremony took place on the verandah of the home ot the bride’s parents. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore, a frock of cream celanese. The close fitting bodice, trimmed with cream .velvet ribbon and fully flaired skirt, reached to her gold and silver shoes. Her tulle veil, embroidered with clematis, was worn over a coronet of myrtle and orange blossoms. She -also carried a beautiful spray of native clematis. . The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. H. Crowe, as matron of honour, wearing brown and carrying a posy of camellias and azaliaS. The groomsman was Mr. J. Carver, brother of the bride-, groom. The minister was the Rev. R. S. Keenan, Inglewood. ' Air. and Mrs. Carver left later in the day by car for their home at Kohuratahi. - PELHAM —FLEMING. The wedding took place at the St. Aubyn Church, New Plymouth, on September 28 of Annie Gilchrist, second daughter of Mr. a,nd Mrs. G. Fleming, Hine Street, and Harty Norman, eldest son of Mr- and Mrs. Pelham, New Plymouth. The Rev. Henderson was the minister and Mr. Fredric was the organist. .3 'The bride entered the church escorted by her father. She wore a long frock of powder blue brocaded crepe-de-chme with short lace coatee and blue picture hat to tone. She carried a sheaf of lilies sprayed with maiden-hair fern. Airs. Carroll, sister of the bride, was matron of honour. She wore an anklelength, tight-fitting frock of pink satin with wide rimmed pink hat to match and carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and maiden-hair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Ern Cruickshanks as best man. After the ceremony’ a reception was held at the Kawaroa Park bungalow, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a beige crepeSuede frock with hat to tone. She carried a posy. The bridegroom’s mother was dressed in a' frock of navy satin with hat and posy to match. . After the reception the bride and. bridegroom left by car for the south to spend their honeymoon.
