Theatre, New. Plymouth, where “The Woman in Room 13,” her latest Fox emotional drama, opens to-day. In this stirring portrayal of a pretty youfig woman’s fight to make her break from a revengeful ex-husband a clean one, Mis Landi is revealed as an actress of manifold charms and appeal. The diversity of moods she is called upon to por* tray enable her for the first, time to enact the normal emotion of a presentday wife in a. believable and logical story. She is seen as an unhappy wife mismated io a philandering husband; she is pictured as a spirited, capable, independent woman who has made a success as a composer; she is depicted in the happy throes of romance with a devoted new mate.; then, when her new happiness is threatened, she fights with every ounce of her energy to protect the man she loves, accepting blame, censure and shame in order to do so. In “The Woman In Room 13” Miss Landi is surrounded by a notable cast of screen. celebrities, including in the more prominent roles Ralph Bellamy, Neil Hamilton, Myrna Loy and Gilbert Roland.. The photoplay was by Henry King from the stage success written by Samuel Shipman, Max Marcin and Percival Wilde. It is Miss Landi’s sixth American film. She recently starred in “The Yellow Ticket” and “Devil’s Lottery. The supporting films will include.a cartoon, a travelogue entitled “Bells of Bali” and news reels.
