DESIRE TO RAISE STANDARD
REORGANISED CENSORSHIP URGED.
PLAN FOR NATIONAL PROPAGANDA. MINISTER TO CONSIDER SCHEME. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 26. The desirability of raising the standard of public appreciation of picture films was stressed by a deputation from the Wellington Society for the Protection of Women and Children which waited on the Minister -of Internal Affairs, Mr.. Adam Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton replied that he realised the importance of the matters raised and would consider them. , . • The deputation suggested the formation of a central committee to work possibly in conjunction with the censor’s office, and free educational as national propaganda by the Government for demonstrating the scope of films, and the reorganisation of the censorship department to allow of the grading of films.
