IMPRISONMENT FOR THEFT
MAN CONSIDERED A MENACE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 26. “We look upon this man as a very bad thief; as a matter of fact we look upon, him as a menace,” said DetectiveSergeant Revell when David McEwan, aged. 42, a labourer, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to stealing a Kruger sovereign from an elderly man wearing it on a watch-chain in a hotel on September 20. He was sentenced to three imprisonment.
