CARD EVENING AND. PERSONAL.

At the last euchre party of; ®. ea ' son held by the Kaimata Card Club the prizes were won by Mrs. T. -Clarx (13 games) 1, Mifes Jean Dobson (12) 2, Mrs. J. A. Potroz (9J) 3,- after a re-play with Mrs. j. Moratti, Mis. G. Peters consolation; Mr.-T. Deane 1, MtR. Klenner 2, Mr. T. Hartigan 3, Mr. E. Bathurst consolation. The. three placed men re-played, after tie, IOJ each. A cake donated 'by Air. and Mrs. Moratti for competition was won by Mr.. J. England.. After, supper the floor was cleared for dancing, the music for which was played by the Aliases Bessie, Jean and Sylvia Dobson. A football team from the Inglewood post office visited Kaimata and won comfortably 'by 19. points to 3. After the match the players were served, with afternoon tea 'by members of. the basketball club. , A seven-a-side match . between, the families of Mr. W. Herl.ihy and Mr. JKlenner resulted in a win for tbe Heilihys by three to nil after, a very ®Y Cll ■Tame. The team were Mr. Herlrhy, Dave, Gordon, Dan, Joe, Mick and Terence, v. Mr. - Klenner, Harold, George, Roy, Don, ’ Percy and Charlie. . _ ■During the winter the Kaimata. Cara Club has 'been raising money to instal a chip-heater and a sink in the supperroom of the hall, and as it has been successful in accumulating the necessary funds, the equipment was installed'' last week-end. The card club, is to be commended for its. ’en-terpnse. The'success of the club is largely due to its chairman, Air. J. Aloratti. The club held a final euchre evening on Tuesday to “christen” the new sink and chip-heater. There were 11 tables. The prizewinners were Miss Jean Dobson (13 games) 1, Miss Rita D°bson (12 games) 2, Mrs. J. Aloratti (11 games) 3; no lady would own up to having -won the consolation prize; - rD. Bracegirdle (14 games) 1, Air. A. Bathurst (13 i games) 2, Air. G. Peters (•12J games) 3,-Air. G. Scott consolation. The evening’s competition was won by Mr. W. Haigh. The 'Kaimata Football du>b and. the Kaimata Basketball Club held a successful euchre And dance party to swell the funds of ‘both clubs. The euchre prizewinners were Miss Sievwright 1, Miss Trigger 2, Air. B. Hartigan 1, Air. H. Bathurst. 2. The ladies’ cqmpetition \va6 won by Aliss E. Klenner, and the men's by Mr. *O. J* Hume. After supper, dancing was continued until a late hour. The music for the daticihg was played by Airs. Trass. , Miss Al. K. Hewes is visiting Stratford. ■ Air. I. V. -Buchanan has returned from Palmerston North, where he has been spending a holiday, . ~ Air. and Airs. C. Creelman and family, who have been visiting Air. Mrs. Bungay, have returned to New, Plymouth. • ~ -, Airs. G. Peters, who has been confined to bed with influenza, has recovered.
