Ban-: nister received a cross-kick, of which he could not take advantage because of McKay's intervention. Hill dribbled up fast and was about to centre when Berry came across and cleared. Albion attacked and forced a corner. With Gardner in attendance, Hill made a fast run down the side to catch the defenders out of place, but Ashton ran out of goal to effect a fine clearance. The second' spell opened with a passing attack between Hill, McKay and Gardner, the last-named forcing a corner off Berry. Again Hill took the offensive, but was opposed by Berry and his shot topped the bar. A free-kick awarded Caledonians for “carrying” by the gOalie was pa’ssed back by Hill to Heatley who, standing in front of the net, sent a shot over the bar. Upshall charged along with the ball at toe and Fagan stopped a scoring shot with a good clearance. Receiving a long pass, Hill missed scoring by inches when the. goalie ran out to clear. Caledonians maintained pressure and play became faster still. Each net was besieged several times. During an Albion attack they were awarded the winning corner, about which there was some dispute.
