WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS
BECOKD ENTRIES RECEIVED. Bj Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Tit® Wellington Competitions Society’s fifteenth annual festival opened yesterday with classes in the Town Hall and the concert chamber. The entries for the 107 classes which will b® adjudicated upon before the festival conclude® on September 3 constitute a record, amounting to approximately 3500, an increase of about 500 over last year’s total, which also was a record. The vocal classes have been very well supported, as usual, and entries for the dancing promise even keener competition than in the past. Encouraging entries have been received for the pianoforte classes, which in recent years have not attracted the attention they deserved
