The dates chosen for the fourth annual South Taranaki ladies’ tournament are Wednesday and Thursday, August 31 and September 1. The popularity of golf is increasing every year, and judging from the keenness shown in the ordinary weekly competitions and the increased number of handicap players in the Hawera Club the committee is confident that the tournament will be even more successful than last year, when there was a record number of entries. Non-handicap players are. entitled to play in the tournament on a 36 handicap, even if they have not yet won their L.G.U. handicaps.
