TARANAKI v. WANGANUI. WANGANUI TEAMS CHOSEN. The Wanganui Rugby Union will be represented by two strong teams in the return matches against Taranaki A at Wanganui and Taranaki Maoris at New Plymouth on Saturday. On June 3 Taranaki won both matches, the A team winning at New Plymouth by 19 to 12, and the Maori team at Wanganui by 23 to 11. The Wanganui selectors, Messrs J. D. Crowley (chairman), L. Southcombe and A. Henwood, have practically recast the Wanganui A team, as only five of the King’s 'Birthday party will play for the Union on Saturday. At fullback Narbey has been replaced by D. Thompson. Bullock-Douglas, the All Black winger, replaces Walden on the wing. The public will therefore see three of this year’s victorious All Black® in action, as Collins (full-back) and R. Clarke (forward) will play for Taranaki. Downes at centre has been replaced by Gibson, whilst the five-eighths, Shaw and Hawkens, are replaced by Low and Egan. Duncan goes in as halfback in place of Wall. In the forwards Matthews, Buckley, Tasker and Walden replace Thompson, Hutchison, Stewart and Walker. The team will be:— Full-back: D. Thompson.
