WEAVERS OF LANCASHIRE DELEGATES’ ADVERSE VOTE NEGOTIATION TO PROCEED (British Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Aug. 4, At meetings of the general council of the Weavers’ Amalgamation of Manchester yesterday a proposal for a general strike of weavers throughout Lancashire was put forward by Nelson weavers but was not carried. A total of 152 delegates from 36 districts attended, and it is understood that after a long discussion the meeting agreed to adjourn and leave the whole question in the hands of the central committee. The general secretary stated that he expected thie negotiations with the employers could be resumed on Friday.
