TRAM CONDUCTOR KILLED

HEAD STRUCK BY CROSS POLE. AUCKLAND STREET ACCIDENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Fatal head injuries were received this afternoon by George McLean, middleaged tram conductor, Onehunga. He was leaning from the back of his car when his head struck a cross-pole and he was knocked into the roadway. The tram travelled some distance before the motorman was aware of the accident. McLean was taken to the Auckland hospital and was found on arrival to be dead.
