NELSON’S VICTORY AT RUGBY
DEFEAT OF BUSH UNION TEAM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. Nelson proved superior to the Bush Union Rugby tofirists to-day m both back and forward divisions, Nelson Winning by 30 points to 7. The game was played on a fast ground. The first spell reached a torrid pace and play, was .very even, the Nelson team having thre* points advantage. , “ " The scoring went on at a great rate in the second spell, the Nelson backs, especially Alexander, Stewart and Fowler, playing brilliantly against the tiring opposition. Mabey and Mahoney the visitors’ best forwards, while Carthy, Mills and Lett played weU » the backs. For Nelson Alexander and Stewart were brilliant backs, Newman also playing well, while McLean, Sutton and Ferguson were the best forwards. The Nelson team’s form was gooft enough to suggest that they * chance of lifting the Seddon Shield fro* Buller at the end of. the month.
