GENERAL RAIN DEVELOPING
FRESHENING NORTH-EAST WINDS.

Wellington, Last Night.The weather will become overcast with much mist or fog. in places. _ Rain will gradually develop at first in the far north and south but later will become general. __ , . A moderate anti-cyclone has been crossing New Zealand to-day with its centre to the north and a shallow depression is now advancing over the Tasman Sea. There will be moderate but freshening northerly to north-easterly winds changing shortly to south-easterly in the south. Seas will be rather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits and smooth elsewhere.
