STAR’S DEFEAT OF TUKAPA WINNERS’ BACKS SPARKLE NO CHANGE IN THE SOUTH FOUK TEAMS IN RUNNING A hard struggle in which the issue in doubt to the close saw Star turn the tables on Tukapa to emerge victorious by 19 to 14 in Taranaki senior Rugby on Saturday. There was tense 'excitement, both players and ■< '■ ; spectators realising the importance of the occasion, and the display of football was easily the finest witnessed in elub football at Pukekura Park for some time. The Stratford team, who received their only defeat at the hands of Old Boys in the first round, had their revenge by overwhelming Old Boys ,on Saturday. Celtic defeated .Clifton, Tn the south, the two leading teams, Okaiawa and Patea, had easy wins over Opunhke and Eltham respectively, while Kaponga defeated Athletic and Hawera gained a narrow win Qver Waimate.
