APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. ADJUSTMENT OF MORTGAGES, The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, from Wednesday to (Friday. There were present Messrs. W. D. Armit (chairman), N. R. Cleland, H. A. Foreman, S. Blake and C. J. Ryan. Several applications for land were dealt with of which three were recommended, three declined and the following approved:—Sub. 4 of Section 12, Block XI, Mapara . Survey District, G. Pattillo; Section 3S, pin Settlement, W. H. Jarvis; Section 4S, Pin Settlement, F. W. G. Freeman; grazing tenancy over Section 1, Block V, Mahoe Survey District, H. M. Ries; and the following tenancies -over portion of the old Manaia Railway Reserve: G. H. Butler, Mrs. F. E. Bradley, Mrs. M. A. Wolfe, H. P. Gibson and B. Ryan. Proposals for the expenditure of accrued thirds by the Whangamomona and Eltham County Councils were agreed to. A recommendation was made for the extension of an expiring occupation with right of. purchase license. The lessee of Section 57, Otakeho Village, was granted a renewal lease. Seventeen applications to transfer were considered, of which 12 wore approved and five recommended.
In five instances Crown tenants were granted permission to mortgage their interests in their properties. An application for financial assistance under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act was declined. Three applications under the provisions of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1929, were recommended, the Board having no recommendation to make in regard to one further application. In three instances- adjustment of mortgages - is being effected and one application for temporary exemption from residence was granted. Several applications for temporary relief under the discharged soldiers’ settlement regulations were received, of which 12 were recommended. The Land Board has decided to offer by public tender a lease of Subs. 1 and 2 of Section 9, Town of Manutahi, and the following sections. will shortly be offered for re-selection: —Section 2,. Block X, Aria Survey District, Section 5, Block XIII, Ohura Survey District and Sub. 21 of Section 1, Ohawe Town Belt. Ninety-two other miscellaneous cases were dealt with.
