NEW ZEALAND FLIER KILLED

Flying-Officer Peter Pharazyn, a New .Zealander, was killed when a Wapiti.day . bomber crashed near Canbury. Mr. Ramsay, /an aviator, gave evidence at the inquest that while he his wife and daughter were driving they saw the plane descending. Then it rose, they heard a crash and saw the tail of the plane disappearing in the branches of a tree. He rushed to the plane, which had buret into flames and. was; burning fiercely. He was of the opinion that Pharazyn encountered a sharp bump over the tree. . , . ? n. A doctor gave evidence that aeatn . was due to head injuries before incineration. Flying-Officer Warrington ga,ve evidence that PharaSzyn was an experienced pilot and unlikely to take unnecessary risks. He probably struck a down draught and was brought too low to clear the tree. S. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
